What if Gwyneth Paltrow had played Rose instead of Kate Winslet? What if James Cameron had quit filming after Avatar? Today we watched James Cameron Breaks Down His Most Iconic Films, and learned a little about the making of each of his major blockbusters.
Not only is Cameron a brilliant filmmaker but he is also a climate activist. In fact, the primary motive of Avatar was to highlight how man destroys ecosystems and disturbs the equilibrium of life at any opportunity he has.
From the casting of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet for Titanic to the immaculate practical effects of The Terminator, we received an insight on the process and initiation of some of Cameron’s biggest projects.
Nearly all of his films have revolutionised cinema in one way or another - Avatar pushed the limits of motion capture, Titanic achieved box office success that was previously unimaginable, Terminator redefined the capabilities of CGI and practical effects. It is safe to say that Cameron has established his credibility as one of the most genius filmmakers of the century.
This video taught us that the bigger our goal, the bigger are the challenges. Only by overcoming these do we truly achieve our dreams.
