Idea #58 - Jordan Peele's Get Out

Today we saw the trailer, as well as a screenplay breakdown of the film - Get Out.

Get Out is a 2017 horror film that has been written and directed by Jordan Peele. It is rooted in racial bias, and is unnerving in its portrayal of horror as it does not deal with normal horror stereotypes such as ghosts and dead bodies, but takes a more psychological approach which leaves the viewer with more questions than answers.

The reason this movie stood out is because it depicts white supremacy as the perpetrator of evil, and this trope is unseen in a largely white demographic. It combines elements of horror with the critique of black-white relations through the microscopic lens of a black boyfriend in a white family.
